Critics quickly pointed out the hyperbolic nature of Biden’s remarks, noting that his characterization of the January 6 protests ignores other significant challenges to democracy in U.S. history.
Biden went on to tout what he claims are his administration’s economic achievements, including job creation and wage growth, despite widespread criticism of his economic policies.
“Today, we have the strongest economy in the world and have created a record 16.6 million new jobs,” Biden boasted. “Wages are up. Inflation continues to come down.”
These statements, however, clash with the reality many Americans face. Under Biden’s leadership, inflation surged to record highs, eroding purchasing power and plunging millions into financial distress. Economists have also noted that many of the “new jobs” Biden cites are simply a recovery of positions lost during the pandemic.
Biden further claimed that the “racial wealth gap is the lowest it’s been in 20 years,” and that “manufacturing is coming back to America.” However, critics argue that these claims lack sufficient context and ignore the ongoing struggles of small businesses and working-class families.
Biden also repeated his well-worn narrative that he ran for president to save the “soul of America.”
“I ran for president because I believed that the soul of America was at stake,” he wrote. “The very nature of who we are was at stake. And that’s still the case.”
Detractors contend that Biden’s decision to run was more about political ambition and regret over not challenging Hillary Clinton in the 2016 Democratic primary than a noble mission to protect the country’s values.

Biden’s letter also highlighted a nearly 26,000-word fact sheet titled “The Biden-Harris Administration Record,” which the White House released as a summary of his accomplishments.
“Vice President Harris and I asked our staff to prepare a detailed summary of the progress we’ve made together throughout the last four years,” he noted.
While the document seeks to paint a rosy picture of the administration’s record, many Americans remain skeptical, citing ongoing crises at the border, rising crime rates, and foreign policy missteps as evidence to the contrary.
Toward the end of his letter, Biden reflected on his five-decade political career, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve.
“It has been the privilege of my life to serve this nation for over 50 years,” he wrote. “Nowhere else on Earth could a kid with a stutter from modest beginnings in Scranton, Pennsylvania, and Claymont, Delaware, one day sit behind the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office as President of the United States.”
He continued, “I have given my heart and my soul to our nation. And I have been blessed a million times in return with the love and support of the American people. We just have to keep the faith and remember who we are. We are the United States of America, and there is simply nothing beyond our capacity when we do it together.”
The response to Biden’s farewell has been polarizing. Many Americans, disillusioned with his leadership, see the letter as a self-serving attempt to rewrite the narrative of his presidency. As one critic put it, “The only thing Americans are thankful for is that there are only five more days of this clown show.”
With his farewell speech still to come, Biden’s parting words are unlikely to mend the deep divisions that have defined his presidency. Instead, they serve as a final reminder of an administration that, for many, fell short of its promises.

Joe Biden does not know how to tell the truth! He is a bitter old man that is not mentally right! Everything he said in this speech was BS and cannot be believed!! He does nothing but lie!!!
