The U.S. Secret Service has placed three employees from its communications office on administrative leave as the agency investigates allegations of potential misconduct, adding another layer of scrutiny to an organization already under intense pressure over security failures and suspected leaks.
Among those reportedly removed from duty is Chief of Communications Anthony Guglielmi, who became one of the most recognizable public faces of the Secret Service during the fallout from the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, in July 2024.
According to a report from RealClearPolitics, Guglielmi and two other communications officials were escorted from Secret Service headquarters in Washington on Monday. The report, which cited multiple sources familiar with the matter, said the employees also had their security clearances suspended and were classified as “do not admit,” temporarily barring them from agency facilities.
