Royal Family’s Moving Tribute to Dolly!

The world is continuing to mourn the loss of country music legend Dolly Parton, and now the British royal family has joined the international outpouring of grief in a distinctly memorable way.

Just one day after Parton died at the age of 80, the Band of the Coldstream Guards performed her iconic 1980 hit “9 to 5” during the Changing of the Guard ceremony outside Buckingham Palace in London. The tribute unfolded Wednesday as tourists gathered outside the royal residence and watched the military musicians deliver an instrumental version of one of Parton’s most recognizable songs.

The performance offered a remarkable farewell to an American entertainer whose influence stretched far beyond country music. Parton became known not only for her unmistakable voice and songwriting but also for her decades of charitable work, particularly her efforts to put books into the hands of children.
