Advanced forensic analysis, including genetic genealogy testing, was performed on DNA recovered from the glove. Authorities attempted to compare the sample against profiles in federal criminal databases.
The result? No match.
That revelation has raised fresh concerns about the identity of whoever may be responsible. With no hit in national systems, investigators are now considering expanding their search to additional genealogy databases — a tactic that has previously helped crack long-dormant homicide cases in California and the high-profile Idaho college murders.
Blood at the Scene
Officials confirmed that the only biological evidence definitively linked to Nancy Guthrie at the residence was blood found on the front steps of her home. Authorities believe she was forcibly taken during the night before she was reported missing.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos told media outlets that the abduction appeared targeted.
The FBI has released video from Guthrie’s Google Nest doorbell camera showing a masked man outside the home. The bureau described the individual as between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build.
Engineers are still attempting to retrieve additional footage from other cameras on the property. Investigators remain hopeful that technology experts can recover usable video that could provide a clearer picture of what happened.
Family Cleared
Speculation has swirled around the case given the high-profile nature of the Guthrie family. However, authorities have emphatically ruled out Savannah Guthrie, her siblings, and their spouses as suspects.
Sheriff Nanos underscored their cooperation with investigators.
“We really put them through the wringer,” Nanos said. “We not just interview them, we take their cars, we take their houses, we take their phones, all this stuff and we’re not taking it. They’re giving it to us voluntarily. They have been 100% cooperative with us through everything we’ve asked. They are victims. They are not suspects.”
The sheriff emphasized that the family has complied fully with every request made by law enforcement.
Internal Friction?
While Nanos insists that his department and federal authorities are working hand in hand, not everyone is satisfied with how the case has been handled.
Former Pima County Sheriff Richard Carmona publicly criticized the leadership overseeing the investigation.
“We are just disappointed at the level or lack of leadership at the senior position and some of the remarks that are quite embarrassing,” Carmona said in a statement to Fox News.
Nanos pushed back against any suggestion of division, telling reporters his department and the FBI maintain a “great working relationship.”
Reward Surges as Hope Remains
The reward money now stands at $200,000, combining a $100,000 FBI reward and an additional six-figure donation from an anonymous supporter. The 88-CRIME tipline had previously raised $102,500 after a major private contribution.
Despite the heightened reward and national attention, investigators have not identified a suspect or person of interest.
Authorities have not ruled out the possibility that the masked man seen on video had help.
For now, Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance remains an open and haunting question. With DNA testing yielding no answers and surveillance footage still under review, the community — and a watching nation — are left waiting for the breakthrough that could finally bring clarity.
Anyone with information is urged to contact local law enforcement or the FBI tipline.

As for the Nancy Guthrie’s case. More and more it sounds like “someone” was oaid to mess up the DNA tests or help to cover for someone! The beginning of the investigation started off in a strange way and most likely DNA was covered up by so many people rather than keeping the house secure until it was completely searched and all evidence taken. Unfortunately it was not secured immediately. Something just seems grossly wrong about the whole investigation.
