For years, Americans were told that the massive influx of migrants across the southern border was something the federal government simply could not stop.
Now, new population estimates suggest the country may have experienced a remarkable reversal.
An analysis of Census Bureau household survey data indicates that America’s foreign-born population has fallen sharply since early 2025. The Center for Immigration Studies estimates the decline at roughly 2.9 million people between January 2025 and the middle of 2026.
