A federal judge appointed by former President Joe Biden has once again put the brakes on Donald Trump’s effort to narrow birthright citizenship.
U.S. District Judge Deborah Boardman has now emerged as a major obstacle to the administration on the issue, handing Trump another courtroom defeat after previously blocking an earlier version of his citizenship policy.
The latest clash is particularly notable because Trump’s new approach was designed to be narrower than his original executive action.
