Video from the scene showed agents arriving in convoys, workers scattering in panic, and buses filling up with people who had no legal right to be there. The South Korean government, clearly humiliated, quickly arranged a charter flight to remove their detained citizens from the U.S.
This wasn’t a one-off incident. It was a systematic operation built on illegal labor — all while the Biden administration turned a blind eye.
Former President Donald Trump wasted no time addressing the scandal head-on. In a statement Sunday, Trump delivered a blunt message to foreign investors:
“Following the Immigration Enforcement Operation on the Hyundai Battery Plant in Georgia, I am hereby calling on all Foreign Companies investing in the United States to please respect our Nation’s Immigration Laws,” Trump said.
But Trump didn’t stop there. He extended a deal that puts American workers front and center while still welcoming legitimate investment.
“Your Investments are welcome, and we encourage you to LEGALLY bring your very smart people, with great technical talent, to build World Class products, and we will make it quickly and legally possible for you to do so,” he explained.
Then came his biggest demand yet:
“What we ask in return is that you hire and train American Workers. Together, we will all work hard to make our Nation not only productive, but closer in unity than ever before.”
The contrast is unmistakable. Biden celebrates foreign projects without caring who’s actually hired. Taxpayer dollars flow freely while illegal labor fills positions that should go to Americans.
Trump’s approach? Welcome investors, fast-track legal immigration for technical experts—but require American hiring and training as part of the deal.
Under Trump’s leadership, foreign companies committed over $5 trillion in private investment, including a $5.8 billion Hyundai steel mill in Louisiana promising 1,400 American jobs—all under clear conditions that Americans would benefit first.
This ICE raid raises serious questions about federal law violations for companies knowingly hiring unauthorized workers. Firms caught exploiting illegal labor while collecting taxpayer subsidies could face massive fines.
For Savannah residents, the scandal is a wake-up call. Biden’s so-called “job creation” looks a lot like taxpayer-funded outsourcing, with local communities left behind.
Trump’s ultimatum draws a line in the sand: legal immigration for specialized talent is welcome—but only if American workers are hired, trained, and put first.
That’s the America First model Democrats can’t seem to deliver.
