Trump, in his signature style, shook her hand and reassured her, “We’re gonna make it better than ever, ok?” He then continued to greet the crowd assembled around the drive-thru window.
Andrejczyk, who has lived in the U.S. for over two decades, explained her deep concerns about the political situation in her homeland during an interview with Fox News on Monday. Speaking on The Story with Martha MacCallum, she revealed the motivation behind her plea to Trump.
“My parents were victims of Brazilian corruption, government corruption,” she shared. “My mom lost a pretty successful business… almost 30 years ago, and that’s the reason why we moved to the United States.”
Andrejczyk expressed her gratitude for her life in America, adding, “I am very grateful for this country. I love this country, and I don’t want to see this country become the corrupt sewage that Brazil is at this moment, where politicians do whatever they want with no accountability to the people.”

The Pennsylvania resident, who had been invited to a Trump campaign event earlier, had no idea that the former president would be working at the drive-thru. She admitted that she began to sense something out of the ordinary as the excitement built in the car ahead of her in line.
“There was no stunt over there. Of course, we knew something was up because of the level of security,” she said. “But it was a great surprise to see him there….he’s a very charismatic person and very relatable.”
For Andrejczyk, the brief encounter felt like “meeting a friend,” despite Trump’s high-profile status. “He looked us in the eye. The way he communicated with us, the way he greeted my children in the back seat. It was incredible,” she said. Her children were just as thrilled, with one even exclaiming, “I can’t believe I shook Donald Trump’s hand.”
“He was very genuine. He’s a genuine man,” Andrejczyk added.
As Trump handed out orders and smiled while frying up food, critics were quick to dismiss the moment as a carefully staged event. However, Trump’s supporters and even his running mate, Ohio Sen. J.D. Vance, pushed back against that narrative.
Criticism centered around claims that the event was orchestrated for the cameras. However, Vance responded to these accusations during a follow-up appearance on Fox News, highlighting the importance of security for a former president.

“The fact that these people are accusing him of a ‘stage-managed’ thing… of course, the president has to have security because there have been two attempts on his life in the last eight weeks,” Vance said. “He can’t just walk into a McDonald’s and sign a W-9 and actually go on the payroll. That’s just not how this works, especially given the security threats on his life.”
Vance continued, praising Trump for his ability to connect with the public. “Look, he was interacting with people. He was talking to the employees. He was giving people food, and he was just [doing] I think what he does best, which is just being among the people, talking to them about what they care about,” Vance remarked. “He showed genuine interest in the employees and their lives and where they came from and what they were actually doing in their job, and that’s something you can’t stage, and you can’t fake.”
Trump’s visit to the McDonald’s drive-thru might have been a surprise to many, but his supporters have embraced it as another example of his connection with everyday Americans. With the 2024 campaign heating up, moments like these—whether praised or criticized—are sure to keep the former president in the spotlight.
For Andrejczyk, her brief moment with Trump at the window was an unforgettable experience. She left the encounter feeling reassured, hopeful that the U.S. would not follow the same path as the country she once fled. As Trump continues to rally support, his message of “making America better than ever” remains a key focus for both his campaign and his base.
