“This is the most corrupt administration in the history of the country, and we are going to rise to this moment by being out there on the streets,” he said.
This kind of rhetoric is exactly what Americans have come to expect from the radical wing of the Democratic Party. Rather than seeking solutions or restoring calm, Murphy chose to pour gasoline on an already volatile situation—ignoring the growing frustration among law-abiding citizens who are fed up with unchecked protests turning violent.
The senator also tried to downplay the chaos in LA, suggesting that the scenes of violence were being exaggerated.
“People in Los Angeles over the weekend would tell you that 99% of them went about their day, and it was pretty normal because this is not an invasion that has taken over the entire city,” Murphy claimed.
Tell that to the people stuck in traffic, the businesses forced to close, and the residents intimidated by mob tactics. The situation on the ground was anything but “normal,” and the attempt to minimize it only adds insult to injury.
But Murphy didn’t stop there. He even accused former President Donald Trump of trying to manufacture a conflict.
“He’s trying to turn a protest that is pretty small into something that involves an even bigger confrontation so that he might actually be able to invoke the Insurrection Act,” Murphy alleged. “That would be a defining story of the week if he were to do it.”

🚨NEW: Chris Murphy calls for NATIONWIDE street protests — says the “protests” in LA are “pretty small."
And, of course, he blames Trump. Pretty clear to see where this is going:
“My first message is to keep it peaceful. This is a moment where we have to be on the streets all… pic.twitter.com/Vr4Fd7OIvW
It’s a bold accusation, especially coming from a party that spent years cheering on Black Lives Matter protests that led to billions in damages and hundreds of police injuries. Now, with election season heating up, Democrats appear to be embracing the same street agitation playbook.
Meanwhile, Republicans are sounding the alarm. Many are asking: where is the accountability? Where is the leadership?
Senator Murphy’s comments didn’t call for unity. They didn’t offer solutions. They served as a signal to the far-left base that street pressure and mob politics are not only acceptable—they’re expected.
The American people are watching closely. With lawlessness on the rise and political tensions reaching a boiling point, the contrast between parties couldn’t be more stark. One side is defending borders, law, and order. The other is calling for more protests—even as cities burn.
