In a stunning moment of political gaslighting, Democrat Senator Chris Murphy appeared on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this week and openly called for mass protests across the country—just days after violent leftist mobs wreaked havoc on the streets of Los Angeles.
Rather than condemn the lawlessness that engulfed parts of LA—where pro-Palestinian agitators, far-left activists, and even illegal aliens reportedly participated in shutting down roads and stirring chaos—Murphy chose instead to fan the flames by calling for more unrest.
“My first message is to keep it peaceful. I mean, obviously, this is a moment where we have to be on the streets all over the country to protest what’s happening to our immigrant community, but more broadly, to protest what’s happening to our democracy,” Murphy said.
While Murphy gave lip service to “peaceful” protest, his demand for nationwide street action comes on the heels of scenes that looked more like an uprising than any peaceful demonstration. Videos from LA showed groups blocking intersections, clashing with police, and waving Palestinian flags—hardly the kind of environment a responsible leader should be encouraging.
