Just In: Shooter’s Manifesto Raises Chilling Questions

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

According to a senior U.S. official cited by CBS News, authorities discovered a written “manifesto” inside Allen’s hotel room. While the full contents have not been publicly released, officials say the document outlined a deep-seated hatred toward the Trump administration, Christians, and a desire to target senior government figures.

The manifesto is now considered a key piece of evidence in understanding both motive and intent.

Investigators also recovered handwritten materials and confirmed that Allen had sent portions of his writings to family members prior to the attack. That decision may have played a critical role in preventing a far worse outcome, as one relative reportedly alerted law enforcement after receiving the troubling messages.

A family member later told investigators that Allen had been making increasingly extreme statements in recent months. He allegedly spoke about needing to do “something” to fix what he saw as problems in the world, raising red flags that, in hindsight, appear deeply ominous.

Authorities are also reviewing Allen’s digital footprint. Early findings point to anti-Trump and anti-Christian rhetoric posted across his social media accounts, reinforcing concerns that his actions were politically and ideologically driven.

Further adding to the picture, reports indicate that Allen attended a “No Kings” protest in California and had some level of association with a group referred to as “The Wide Awakes.” Officials have not yet clarified the extent of his involvement or whether those affiliations played a direct role in the attack.

Top federal officials are now speaking out about what they believe was the suspect’s ultimate objective.

Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche stated plainly that investigators believe Allen “was targeting members of the Trump administration.” He added that it appeared Allen “set out to target folks who work in the administration, likely including the president.”

Blanche did not mince words about the severity of the threat, warning that Allen “was intent on doing as much harm and as much damage as he could.”

That assessment was echoed by U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro, who said, “It is clear, based upon what we know so far, that this individual was intent on doing as much harm and as much damage as he could.”

Behind the scenes, investigators are working to reconstruct Allen’s movements leading up to the attack. Officials say he traveled by train from the Los Angeles area to Chicago before continuing on to Washington, D.C. He checked into the Washington Hilton hotel on April 24, just one day before the event.

Authorities have also confirmed that the weapons allegedly used in the attack were legally obtained. The shotgun was purchased in California in August 2025, while a semiautomatic handgun in his possession dates back to a 2023 purchase.

In a twist that has raised further questions, Allen appeared to live a relatively ordinary professional life. He worked as a tutor and admissions counselor at C2 Education in Torrance and was even recognized as “Teacher of the Month” in December 2024.

Outside of work, he reportedly pursued independent game development, creating projects ranging from chemistry-based simulations to shooter-style games. That technical background is now being scrutinized as investigators examine whether any of his skills contributed to the planning of the attack.

Records also show that Allen was registered to vote without party affiliation. However, he made a single $25 political donation through ActBlue to support Kamala Harris’ 2024 campaign, according to the Associated Press.

Federal prosecutors have already filed serious charges, including using a firearm during a crime of violence and assaulting a federal officer with a dangerous weapon. Officials have made clear that additional charges are likely as more evidence is reviewed.

Allen is scheduled to appear in federal court for arraignment on April 27. An indictment is expected to follow as investigators continue to dig into the full scope of what they describe as a deliberate and potentially catastrophic plot.

What remains unanswered is how close this incident came to becoming something far worse—and whether warning signs were missed along the way.
