Is Joe Biden’s Re-Election A ‘Setback’ Or ‘Disaster’?

It’s worrying news for the President that 66% of respondents in a recent CNN survey think President Biden’s re-election would be bad for the country.

“Horrible news, horrible for Joe Biden,” CNN anchor Jake Tapper said in reaction to the poll. “Those are some bad numbers,” he later added.

David Challian, a CNN contributor, examined a recent poll that found 41% of respondents thought a Biden re-election would be bad for the country. However, the thought of former President Trump winning another term in office worried 44% of respondents more.

A recent poll found that 26% of Americans thought that Biden’s victory would be a setback, compared to 12% who said the same about Trump. It’s interesting to note that both candidates were viewed as making progress after their victories. Trump, however, received a 10 point advantage in the number of voters who said that their choice’s victory was a triumph.

“[Trump’s] hardcore supporters are more into him than perhaps Biden’s hardcore supporters are into him,” Chalian stated. “Yeah, it’s worse for Biden but for both of them, most of the American people think electing them would be a disaster or a setback for both Joe Biden and Donald Trump, the current Democratic and Republican frontrunner,” Tapper interjected.

Biden’s approval rating of 35%, according to Challian, is “remarkably low.”

79% of the Democrats polled said they still approve of the president. But since December, support for him has fallen by nine percentage points among independent voters, hurting his appeal. His current approval rating among independent voters is 26%, according to the most recent CNN poll.

At 37%, President Trump has a mediocre overall approval rating.

Challian advises not to ignore the increasing primary challenge facing President Biden. Recent Democratic response surveys show that Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has 20% of the vote, with Marianne Williamson coming in second with 8%. Keep up with the most recent developments in the contest to be the next Democratic nominee.

According to a recent study, only 40% of independents who lean Democratic supported Biden, compared to 67% of Democrats who are committed to the DNC. Challian believes that this may serve as a warning to the President.
