With his horrible crime of enticing a 9-year-old girl to his Vermont cabin in 2020 and participating in sexual acts while her mother watched, former CNN host Jeffrey Griffin stunned the globe this year. Along with him, Heather Carriker was taken into custody on suspicion of child abuse, sexual assault of a juvenile under 14, and indecent behavior with that age group. Griffin was initially charged with three counts of child sex crimes, but he chose to accept a plea deal that would have dropped two of the charges. Despite this, Griffin still had to pay a heavy price for this heinous act.
The former producer allegedly had a disturbing habit of attempting to groom young girls. He allegedly boasted that he could bring seven-year-olds back home and promoted a traditional viewpoint that women should submit to men in all sexual situations, even when doing so entailed youngsters who were going against their parents’ desires. Despite these unsettling claims, the prosecutor reportedly paid one mother $3,000 in exchange for granting him access to her daughter, furthering his cunning plans.
Before Carriker and her daughter flew to his opulent mansion in April 2020, the perpetrator had evil plans for them. He asked for a “virtual training session” where another mother-daughter couple would strip off and engage in repugnant sexual practices. This wasn’t an isolated event; shortly after, he requested a different woman to take her 16-year-old daughter on a trip that seemed innocent enough to be a “mother-daughter trip,” but had ulterior motives beyond simple sightseeing. When all of these occurrences were investigated by the authorities in May 2021, he was ultimately found guilty of his heinous attempts to manipulate defenseless families.
Griffin was charged with three counts of enticement after being detained on December 10, 2021, and having his employment terminated. In the end, he agreed to a plea bargain that included up to ten years in prison and restitution to his victims. In addition to forfeiting significant assets like a Tesla automobile and a cabin in Vermont, his sentence includes heavy fines totaling $250K, with half of the proceeds from their sales going directly to court costs.
If he is found guilty, there may be repercussions for him in the future, such as being labeled and handled as a sex offender.
The 22nd of December has been scheduled as the date for Carriker’s next hearing, which is rapidly approaching. It will be a chance to decide what happens next and perhaps influence Carriker’s future.
