The Trump administration is moving to give immigration officers another option between verbal commands and deadly force — and border czar Tom Homan says the new technology could make dangerous encounters safer for everyone involved.
ICE is preparing to deploy an electrified glove known as the Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter, or G.L.O.V.E., as part of an effort to expand the less-lethal tools available to officers during arrests and confrontations.
The agency could spend as much as $20 million on the technology.
