But behind the teenage rebellion and the memes lies a serious mission: dismantling the bloated machinery of the federal bureaucracy. That’s the entire point of DOGE — a project launched under Musk’s temporary government role aimed at gutting inefficiency and exposing fraud within the system.
Coristine may be young, but he’s no novice. During high school, he founded a company called DiamondCDN, which later came under scrutiny after its technology was reportedly used by “EGodly,” a cybercriminal outfit, according to Reuters. Though the details remain murky, the controversy has only fueled Coristine’s resolve to build systems that protect — not prey on — the public.

Now working at DOGE, Coristine is digging into the murky waters of government spending.
“Right now, I’m working on some payment computer stuff,” Coristine told Watters. “One of our initiatives is to root out fraud and waste, and to do that, we started looking at the payment computers, and as mentioned earlier, there’s no accounting of what payments actually go to in the payment computer.”
He added, “So, like, you look at a specific line item, like $20 million, and you’re like OK, what is this money actually going to? And for the majority of payment systems, it’s like, well, we don’t really know.”

That kind of answer should terrify every taxpayer. Yet, according to Coristine, it’s par for the course in Washington.
Watters pressed the teen further, asking how he handles the staggering lack of accountability in the system.
“It’s a huge cause for concern because, like, the upstream thing, which is distributing the money, literally has no checks and no accountability to the actual American taxpayer, so it’s a huge vector for fraud, waste and abuse,” Coristine replied.
He didn’t mince words when asked whether federal workers respect the money that hardworking Americans send to D.C. in the form of taxes.
“There’s no incentive to if you work in the government,” he said. “I think the incentives will always decide the outcomes.”

While critics are quick to dismiss DOGE as a publicity stunt or Musk’s pet project, others see it as a vital challenge to the entrenched dysfunction of the federal bureaucracy. Musk’s decision to surround himself with young, unconventional thinkers like Coristine may be exactly what Washington needs — a swift boot to its bloated backside.
However, time is running short for Musk’s stint as a special government employee. His temporary assignment is set to expire at the end of the month, with the Tesla and SpaceX boss expected to shift back toward his business empire.
Reports suggest he’s already stepping back from his physical presence at the White House — but whether DOGE continues or collapses without him may depend on how deeply the seeds of disruption he planted can take root.
Either way, Edward “Big Balls” Coristine is now on the national stage — and he’s not afraid to call out the broken system.
