In a fiery essay posted to social media, the “Harry Potter” creator directly confronted the latest pro-trans letter signed by several actors from the franchise she created—accusing them of falling in line with radical ideology out of cowardice, not conviction.

The essay comes in response to an open letter signed by more than 2,000 members of the entertainment industry, including “Harry Potter” stars like Eddie Redmayne, Katie Leung, and Paapa Essiedu. The letter criticized a landmark UK Supreme Court ruling that reaffirmed the legal definition of “woman” and “sex” as biological—something Rowling has publicly backed.
