Democrats’ Legal Loss Resurfaces After Hostin Comments

The NAACP has sparked a fresh wave of debate after launching a new campaign urging Black student-athletes to reconsider attending certain major college programs. The initiative, paired with comments from television personality NAACP, has now been amplified on daytime TV—drawing both support and skepticism in equal measure.

At the center of the conversation is the organization’s so-called “Out of Bounds” campaign, which reportedly targets public universities in Southeastern and Atlantic Coast athletic conferences across states including Tennessee, Louisiana, Alabama, Florida, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, and Georgia. The campaign references the Supreme Court’s ruling in Louisiana v. Callais, which struck down race-based congressional districting practices as unconstitutional. Organizers argue the decision reflects a broader rollback of race-conscious policy frameworks, and they are attempting to respond through economic and cultural pressure.

The issue reached The View, where Sunny Hostin weighed in on the strategy. Hostin framed the proposal as part of a long tradition of economic activism in civil rights movements. “Economic damage and economic harm has longtime been a very effective tool in the civil rights movement,” she said on air.
