Deadly Twisters Strike at Night — Death Toll Rising

America’s heartland was rocked late Friday night as a violent swarm of tornadoes tore across the Ohio Valley, leaving a devastating path of destruction, death, and chaos. In what emergency officials are calling one of the deadliest outbreaks in recent years, at least 27 Americans lost their lives—most of them in Kentucky—as the twisters flattened homes, crushed vehicles, and left entire neighborhoods unrecognizable.

The death toll is still climbing. Kentucky Congressman Hal Rogers confirmed Saturday that “at least 20 people had been killed” in his state alone, and warned the situation is only getting worse. “Daylight is painting a more complete, and more painful picture of the damage and loss,” Kentucky Emergency Management officials echoed in a chilling Saturday morning update.

Towns like Somerset and London, nestled in the heart of Kentucky, bore the brunt of nature’s fury. Entire streets were turned to rubble as twisters swept through, claiming lives and leaving dozens more injured or missing. The Laurel County Fiscal Court posted that “multiple fatalities have been confirmed” and warned that rescue crews are still digging through the debris. According to reports, the tornado hit late Friday night, slamming into two neighborhoods and even touching down near the London-Corbin Airport.
