The federal investigation into Georgia’s handling of the 2020 presidential election is entering a new phase, with the FBI dramatically increasing the number of personnel assigned to the case as investigators work to review records and gather information tied to the ongoing inquiry.
According to an unclassified internal FBI memorandum issued Wednesday, the bureau has instructed field offices across the country to provide immediate support for what has been designated a priority investigation being led by the FBI’s Atlanta office. The directive, first reported by MS NOW, calls for a nationwide surge of intelligence resources to assist investigators examining matters connected to the 2020 election in Fulton County, Georgia.
The internal document outlines a substantial staffing commitment. Based on the size of each field office, personnel are being reassigned to support the investigation, resulting in approximately 260 FBI intelligence analysts joining the effort. While the memo does not specify how many special agents are participating, reports indicate that dozens of FBI agents are already actively working the case.
