In a stunning but swift conclusion to Canada’s 2025 federal election, the country’s political future took a sharp turn left—again. The race was declared by 10:15 PM Eastern, just hours after polls closed, in a contest that saw former banker and globalist Mark Carney sweep into power with a mandate to stifle speech and tighten government control.
This was no nail-biter. Carney’s main conservative challenger, Pierre Poilievre, once dominated the betting markets by a jaw-dropping 50-point margin back in February, according to Polymarket data. But then came a critical misstep—he voiced support for Donald Trump. In a political landscape increasingly hostile to conservative values, even mentioning Trump’s name was enough to ignite the Canadian media and spark a voter backlash.

It didn’t help that Poilievre refused to play the media’s game. But while he stayed firm on policy, Carney surged with the establishment’s full backing, playing directly into the fears of the progressive elite. Canada, it seems, has fully embraced its new role as a progressive petri dish.
The election process itself was remarkably efficient. Paper ballots. One day of in-person voting. No ballot harvesting, no drawn-out counting. Just simple, old-fashioned democracy—at least in form, if not in principle.
