Investigators say English admitted to traveling to Washington, D.C., with the intent to harm Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, who was reportedly testifying before the Senate at the time. English allegedly confessed to planning the attack and carrying the makeshift weapons, stating that he could no longer remain passive while “nazis kill my sisters.” A handwritten note found in his pocket read, “This is terrible, but I can’t do anything while nazis kill my sisters… I’m really sorry for lying, planning, and lying.”
English remains in custody following his initial court appearance this afternoon, where he was formally charged with carrying a dangerous weapon or incendiary device on Capitol grounds and unlawful possession of an incendiary device. The charges carry severe penalties if he is convicted.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Pam Bondi recently addressed concerns about the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein’s case. During a press conference on Wednesday, Bondi revealed that the FBI is currently analyzing “tens of thousands of videos of [Jeffrey] Epstein with children or child porn” as part of the ongoing probe into Epstein’s criminal network. Bondi explained that the sheer volume of evidence has delayed the public release of these files.
“The FBI is diligently going through that,” Bondi said, adding, “That’s what they’ve been working on going through.” Epstein, the infamous financier and convicted sex offender, died by suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges.

Republican Rep. James Comer, who chairs the House Oversight Committee, has been vocal about his concerns that critical Epstein files may have been destroyed or withheld before the Trump administration took office. Comer, a member of the House Oversight Task Force on government declassification, said, “The president ordered them released, the attorney general ordered them released, we all know they have not been released.”
The Epstein case remains one of the most controversial criminal investigations in recent history, with many still questioning the extent of his connections to powerful figures in finance, academia, and politics.
