In a rare public appearance, President Joe Biden emerged from political obscurity Tuesday night to address the national conference of Advocates, Counselors and Representatives for the Disabled in Chicago—and it was exactly what Americans have come to expect: disjointed rants, confusing tangents, and a blatant attack on anyone daring to cut government waste.
This marks Biden’s first major speech since he left office. While he did speak briefly at the National High School Model United Nations last month, not a single mainstream outlet gave it coverage—a telling sign of how far the media’s interest in Biden has plummeted.

At 82 years old, Biden took the stage looking frail and speaking in a halting, sluggish manner. Early in his speech, he veered into an awkward recollection from his childhood that left many in the audience visibly uncomfortable.
“And I’d never seen – uh I’d never seen hardly any black people in Scranton at the time and I was only going on 4th grade. And I remember seeing the kids going by at the time called colored kids on a bus going by,” Biden said.
