For years, skeptics have dismissed the Bible as little more than ancient mythology, arguing that its stories lack a meaningful historical foundation.
Now, an archaeological discovery in central Turkey is giving that debate another reason to continue.
Researchers excavating the ancient settlement of Türkmen Karahöyük have uncovered a roughly 1,500-year-old Christian amulet containing an extraordinarily thin sheet of gold. Archaeologists believe the gold may bear a passage from the Bible, although the exact text has not yet been identified.
