The U.S. military says American forces have completed a major operation to remove Iranian sea mines from internationally recognized shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, potentially clearing a dangerous obstacle from one of the world’s most important energy corridors.
Adm. Brad Cooper, commander of U.S. Central Command, announced the development Thursday in a video posted to X, describing the operation as a significant achievement for American forces.
