Amazon, the world’s largest online retailer, is bracing for an unprecedented wave of strikes and protests during the busiest shopping weekend of the year. Workers across more than 20 countries are set to participate in the “Make Amazon Pay” campaign, an effort organized by international labor groups to challenge the corporate giant’s practices.
The protests, orchestrated by UNI Global Union and Progressive International, aim to disrupt operations from Black Friday through Cyber Monday. According to ABC News, the demonstrations are part of a growing global movement to hold Amazon accountable for alleged labor abuses, environmental harm, and anti-democratic practices.

UNI Global’s statement revealed that employees from countries including Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Sweden are joining forces in solidarity. India has also become a focal point, with protesters condemning Amazon’s response to a severe heat wave that impacted workers over the summer.
