All Hell Breaks Loose After Trump’s 2028 Tease!

“The jobs of the future are STEM jobs,” Cuomo said. “You have to prepare for them. So you’re not gonna be cutting people’s taxes and investing at the same time.”

But Bannon didn’t back down. Instead, he revealed an ongoing debate within Trump’s inner circle over the direction of the next wave of economic reforms. According to Bannon, the next round of tax cuts will focus squarely on the middle and working class—but with a bold twist.

“This is being fought behind closed doors right now, and I’m telling you, with the massive tax cut, in addition, he’s going to give the working class and the middle class, the math only works out if you actually increase taxes on the wealthy,” Bannon said.

That’s right—Bannon supports raising taxes on the rich, arguing it would not only pay for a historic middle-class tax cut but actually help Trump politically.

“You talked about the manufacturing. President Trump, I strongly – I believe will do it. And I think one of the things he talked about is he said politically, it might hurt him. Politically, it’s going to help him in his reelect in 2028,” Bannon added.

But just as conservatives began buzzing over Bannon’s remarks, President Trump himself poured cold water on the idea of running again after 2028—or bending the rules to do so.

Speaking to Time Magazine, Trump dismissed any notion that he would exploit legal technicalities to secure a third term.

“I’d rather not discuss that now, but as you know, there are some loopholes that have been discussed that are well known. But I don’t believe in loopholes. I don’t believe in using loopholes,” Trump said flatly.

And on the subject of taxes? Trump made it crystal clear—he isn’t following Bannon’s playbook.

Recalling how President George H.W. Bush’s infamous “Read my lips” tax reversal destroyed his re-election hopes in 1992, Trump signaled he wouldn’t make the same mistake.

“Well, I’ll tell ya, I certainly don’t mind having a tax increase, and the only reason I wouldn’t support it is because I saw Bush where they said, where he said ‘Read my lips’ and he lost an election. He would have lost it anyway, but he lost an election,” Trump explained.

Trump added that while he personally wouldn’t mind paying more as a wealthy American, political reality makes that a losing strategy.

“He got beat up pretty good. I would be honored to pay more, but I don’t want to be in a position where we lose an election because I was generous, but me, as a rich person, would not mind paying and you know, we’re talking about very little,” he concluded.

Whether Trump’s 2028 return is a real possibility or just political fantasy remains to be seen. But one thing is clear: Trump is still calling the shots in the Republican Party—and every word he says sends shockwaves through Washington.
