A stunning development tied to documents released under former President Donald Trump’s Department of Justice is sending shockwaves through international political circles. Newly surfaced material is putting a spotlight on a powerful foreign figure long connected to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein—and raising troubling questions about what was known, and when.
At the center of the controversy is former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, who for years publicly insisted he never received money from Epstein. That claim is now under intense scrutiny following revelations contained in a massive trove of federal records.
Millions in Payments—and a Key Claim Challenged
Between 2004 and 2006, the Wexner Foundation—linked to billionaire Leslie Wexner—transferred approximately $2.3 million to Barak. The payments were reportedly tied to research projects and writing commitments.
Years later, in 2020, members of Israel’s Likud Party petitioned the High Court of Justice to investigate those payments. During those proceedings, an attorney representing the foundation told the court that Epstein had no involvement in authorizing the funds.
That assurance proved pivotal. The court ultimately declined to move forward with the case, relying on the representation that Epstein played no role.
