Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is facing sharp criticism after a heated exchange with a constituent on social media, where the Democratic mayor responded to questions about city transportation priorities by telling the resident to “shut up.”
The controversy began after Dickens posted a video Friday celebrating a gathering with Nature Girlz, a walking group founded by Black women during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Nothing like seeing folks outside, enjoying each other and enjoying this city,” Dickens said.
