Trump Just Made a Shocking WAR Announcement

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

White House: Time to Defend America

The memo makes clear that Trump sees the cartels as more than smugglers — he sees them as foreign enemies. “The United States has now reached a critical point where we must use force in self-defense and defense of others against the ongoing attacks by these designated terrorist organizations,” it reads.

That tough stance aligns with Trump’s long-standing promise to crush the cartels and stop the flow of fentanyl and cocaine that’s killing tens of thousands of Americans each year.

Critics Say Trump is Going Too Far

Not everyone is cheering. Critics are warning that Trump’s war powers move could fundamentally change U.S. policy.

“The United States is taking a much more dramatic step — one that I think is a very, very far stretch of international law and a dangerous one,” Matthew Waxman, a former Bush administration national security official, told the AP.

Waxman spelled out the consequences: “It means the United States can target members of those cartels with lethal force. It means the United States can capture and detain them without trial.”

Boots on Deck in the Caribbean

The Trump administration isn’t just talking tough — it’s acting. The U.S. military already carried out three separate strikes last month on suspected drug-running vessels. At least two of those boats reportedly originated from Venezuela.

One Sept. 15 operation destroyed a cartel boat, its narcotics cargo, and killed “approximately 3 unlawful combatants,” according to the memo.

The Pentagon has also surged American forces into the region. Officials describe it as the largest maritime buildup in years: eight Navy warships and more than 5,000 sailors and Marines stationed in the Caribbean.

Congress Kept in the Dark

Lawmakers are scrambling to figure out just how far Trump intends to go. Senators were briefed in a closed-door classified session this week, where several reportedly walked away convinced that a new legal framework for military action was being put in place.

House staffers were given their own briefing last week, raising alarms about whether Congress is being sidelined while Trump flexes executive war powers.

The Trump Doctrine Against Cartels

The White House insists everything is being done by the book. “As we have said many times, the President acted in line with the law of armed conflict to protect our country from those trying to bring deadly poison to our shores, and he is delivering on his promise to take on the cartels and eliminate these national security threats from murdering more Americans,” it said in response to the strikes.

Trump’s declaration is more than words — it’s a military doctrine. He has effectively elevated the cartels to the level of foreign terrorist groups, putting them squarely in the crosshairs of America’s armed forces.

What Comes Next

The big question is how far Trump will go. Will operations remain limited to cartel boats and maritime strikes? Or could this open the door to air raids, drone strikes, or even raids into cartel strongholds in Latin America?

Either way, Trump has made it clear: America is no longer treating cartels as criminals to be arrested, but as enemy combatants to be destroyed.
