During his first term, Trump rolled back heavy-handed regulations, giving coal miners a much-needed breather. But President Biden came in with a vengeance, reviving the environmental stranglehold under the so-called “Clean Power Plan 2.0.” Coal-fired power plants were once again in the crosshairs. Many feared the final nail had been hammered into the coffin.
Until now.
In a powerful ceremony at the White House surrounded by coal miners, Trump took the fight straight to the heart of the climate-obsessed left.
“We’re bringing back an industry that was abandoned despite the fact it was just about the best in terms of power — real power,” Trump said. “The Democrats’ green new scam killed new jobs and sent prices soaring in America, but meanwhile China opened two new coal plants a week.”
Trump then signed four executive orders aimed squarely at reviving the coal industry. These directives will immediately lift Biden-era restrictions, restart leasing for coal mining on federal land, and force federal agencies to eliminate any regulatory bias against coal.
“We’re ending Joe Biden’s war on beautiful clean coal once and for all,” Trump declared. “We will end the government’s bias against coal.”
Trump made clear that this isn’t just about politics—it’s about keeping America powered in an era where the demand for electricity is exploding, thanks in large part to artificial intelligence and energy-hungry data centers.
“All those plants that have been closed will be opened if they’re modern enough or they’re going to be ripped down and new ones are going to be built,” Trump vowed.
While solar panels and wind farms can’t meet surging demand, coal offers a time-tested, reliable alternative.
“I call it beautiful, clean coal. I told my people, never use the word coal unless you put beautiful, clean before it,” Trump said.
“Pound for pound, coal is the single most reliable, durable, secure, and powerful form of energy,” Trump added. “It’s cheap, incredibly efficient, high density, and it’s almost indestructible.”
Industry insiders are cheering Trump’s efforts. East Kentucky Power Cooperative CEO Tony Campbell gave a heartfelt thank-you to Trump for standing with working-class Americans who depend on coal to survive.
“America must keep coal plants open and running to ensure reliable electricity when we need it most,” Campbell said. “To meet growing demand over the next decade and ensure fuel security, America will need more always-available power, such as coal.”
Even Trump’s pick for Secretary of the Interior, Doug Burgum, is taking action. He plans to reclassify coal as a strategic mineral—paving the way for expanded production under Trump’s executive leadership.
While Democrats continue to chase their fantasy of a fully solar-powered utopia, Trump is grounding America back in reality. His coal comeback is a message to forgotten communities and working-class Americans who’ve paid the price for elitist environmental experiments.
This isn’t just policy reform—it’s redemption. Coal miners, factory workers, and rural families now have a champion once again. And Trump is proving that when it comes to fighting for America’s future, he’s just getting started.
