The Messenger first published the survey findings on Tuesday.
59% of respondents said they would “definitely” vote for Trump, while 6% said they “probably” would. On the other hand, 24% said they would “definitely” back Haley, while 7% said they would “probably” support her. Four percent are still unsure.
Haley’s support falls to 29% after learning of former Representative Liz Cheney’s endorsement, but Trump’s stays the same. Additionally, the percentage of those who “definitely” vote for Haley falls from 24% to 21%.
“Despite her positive job approval and millions in attack ads against President Trump, Republican Primary voters in South Carolina remain unswayed by Haley’s weak attempts to change their minds. South Carolina solidly remains Trump country,” The polling company finishes with a memo.
Following Trump’s commanding victory in the New Hampshire Republican presidential primary on Tuesday night, President Joe Biden declared last week that Trump “will be the nominee”.
In an email to Mediaite, Biden recognized Trump as the front-runner and thanked the people who backed his write-in campaign, which helped him win the New Hampshire Democratic primary.
“It is now clear that Donald Trump will be the Republican nominee. And my message to the country is the stakes could not be higher. Our Democracy. Our personal freedoms — from the right to choose to the right to vote. Our economy — which has seen the strongest recovery in the world since COVID. All are at stake. I want to thank all those who wrote my name in this evening in New Hampshire,” the statement said.

According to Yahoo, Biden’s staff is aware of the political obstacles they are now up against.
“Biden faces no shortage of headwinds going into the general election season — low approval ratings, widespread concern about his age, multiplying tensions abroad and plenty of discontent at home, including from disenchanted young people and minorities who were key to his first victory. But his campaign has crafted a rejoinder to each count — the answers often circling back to Trump himself,” Yahoo noted.
Exit polls from Tuesday’s New Hampshire primary provide the Democratic Party and Joe Biden with unflattering information as they mold their platform for November.
Vice President Kamala Harris launched a statewide “Fight for Reproductive Freedoms” Tour in Wisconsin last week, according to the White House, with a focus on increasing access to abortion.
“Freedom, I believe, is fundamental to the promise of America…and that includes the freedom to make decisions about one’s own body, not the government telling you what to do,” Harris stated during the occasion.
Her remarks and the White House’s focus on abortion come after the U.S. Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade last year and said that each state should decide the issue for itself.
Voters’ top worries are the economy and the illegal immigration situation at the southern border, according to a CBS News exit survey conducted during the New Hampshire primary.
“On the issues, the economy and immigration are the top issues for New Hampshire primary voters. These are the same issues that were most important to Iowa GOP caucus goers,” the outlet reported. “Immigration is a driver, particularly for Trump voters.”
