The president emphasized that loyalty matters and highlighted Evette’s efforts to campaign on his behalf throughout the country during his successful return to the White House.
“She crisscrossed South Carolina and other States for me, and I said, at the time, that this is truly something which I cannot forget! Now Pam is running to be the next Governor of South Carolina, a place I love and WON BIG in 2016, 2020, and 2024, getting the Highest Vote, BY FAR, in the State’s History,” the endorsement post continued.
Trump also expressed confidence that Evette would continue advancing conservative policies in South Carolina while building on the foundation established by Republican Governor Henry McMaster, who is prohibited from seeking another term due to term limits.
For Evette, the endorsement represents the culmination of a political relationship that began years ago when Trump first entered national politics.
Following the announcement, she publicly thanked the president and credited him with inspiring her own journey into public service.
“Your walk down that golden escalator is what propelled me into politics. You showed what a businessperson can do to make America Great Again. I am incredibly grateful for your support and will never let you down,” she said.
While Evette celebrated the endorsement, not everyone in the Republican field received the news they were hoping for.
Congresswoman Nancy Mace, who has built a national profile through her outspoken positions and frequent media appearances, was notably left without Trump’s backing. Despite the disappointment, Mace chose a measured response, reaffirming her admiration for the president while directing criticism toward South Carolina’s political establishment.
“I have enormous respect for President Trump and everything he has done for our country and for South Carolina. That respect is genuine and it is unchanged. We have a state that’s corrupt. A system that’s broken. And an establishment who wants to stay in the shadows,” Mace wrote.
Trump also declined to endorse Congressman Ralph Norman, a prominent conservative and longtime member of the House Freedom Caucus. Norman has maintained strong support among grassroots activists and remains a serious contender despite Trump’s decision.
The endorsement arrives at a pivotal moment as polling suggests the race remains highly competitive with no clear frontrunner emerging.
Recent survey data from the Trafalgar Group showed just how divided Republican voters remain. Evette held a razor-thin lead with 19.9 percent support, while South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson followed closely behind at 19.4 percent.
Businessman Rom Reddy and Congressman Ralph Norman each attracted 15.9 percent support, while Nancy Mace stood at 14.6 percent. More than five percent of voters remained undecided, highlighting how fluid the race continues to be.
With margins this narrow, Trump’s endorsement could prove to be the decisive factor that separates one candidate from the pack.
The president’s influence remains exceptionally strong among Republican primary voters, particularly in deeply conservative states like South Carolina. History has shown that Trump’s endorsements frequently move undecided voters and energize grassroots activists who play a critical role in primary elections.
As the campaign enters its next phase, all eyes will be on whether Trump’s backing gives Evette the momentum needed to break away from a crowded field and position herself as the clear favorite to become South Carolina’s next Republican governor.
