Trump Just ENDED His Friendship with Elon?

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“Elon is upset because we took the EV mandate,” Trump told reporters. “They want us to pay billions of dollars in subsidy… Elon knew this from the beginning. That hasn’t changed.”

According to Trump, Musk is also sore over the administration’s decision to pull the plug on Jared Isaacman — a close associate of Musk — for the role of NASA administrator. Instead, Trump says his team is focused on appointing someone with conservative values to lead the agency.

“He happened to be a Democrat, like totally Democrat. And I say, you know, we won. We get certain privileges, and one of the privileges is we don’t have to appoint a Democrat,” Trump declared.

Trump went on to defend the bill in sweeping terms, calling it “the biggest cut in the history of our country” and boasting about the tax relief it provides to working families and small businesses.

“People’s taxes will go way down… It’s the biggest tax cut in history,” Trump said. “Nobody’s ever seen anything like it.”

Despite Musk’s public criticism, Trump also reminded the press of their previously friendly relationship. “He said the best things, he’s worn that hat, ‘Trump was right about everything,’” Trump noted, before adding that things may never be the same between them again.

In response to Trump’s lengthy remarks, Musk returned to X with a quick dismissal: “Whatever.”

But he didn’t stop there. Musk took further shots at the bill’s contents and legislative process, writing, “Keep the EV/solar incentive cuts in the bill, even though no oil & gas subsidies are touched (very unfair!!), but ditch the MOUNTAIN of DISGUSTING PORK in the bill.”

He also claimed the bill was rushed through Congress without adequate review. “Was passed in the dead of night so fast that almost no one in Congress could even read it,” Musk alleged.

Doubling down, Musk highlighted past Trump posts where the former president criticized federal spending and the national debt. One tweet from 2012 where Trump wrote, “No member of Congress should be eligible for re-election if our country’s budget is not balanced—deficits not allowed!” earned an enthusiastic response from Musk: “I couldn’t agree more!”

The clash marks a significant turning point in the relationship between the tech titan and the 45th president, who had once praised Musk for his innovation and success.

Despite the war of words, Trump remains firmly behind his bill. “We call it a great Big Beautiful Bill because that’s what it is,” he said, touting it as a historic achievement. He pointed to numbers from the Congressional Budget Office, saying even they — despite being run by Democrats — acknowledged the bill’s projected economic benefits.

“They just came out with phenomenal numbers,” Trump noted, urging Secretary Scott Bessent to explain the $2.8 trillion in projected positive outcomes from the bill.

With neither side backing down, this feud may only be heating up — and with Trump on the campaign trail and Musk ramping up political commentary, America could be in for more fireworks between these two high-profile figures.
