Trump Drops MASSIVE Strait of Hormuz Announcement

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

“Separately, I had a call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, which, likewise, went very well,” Trump added.

The diplomatic push follows earlier reports that Trump had been engaged in intensive discussions with Gulf leaders over the weekend. At the time, he indicated that Washington and Tehran were “getting a lot closer” to a potential peace agreement, though tensions remained high amid ongoing uncertainty.

The situation had reportedly reached a critical inflection point. Sources indicated Trump was weighing potential military action against Iran, with the former president himself stating he was at a “solid 50/50” decision point between pursuing a diplomatic breakthrough or authorizing strikes described as potentially devastating.

That uncertainty appears to have shifted following what Trump described as a revised proposal from Iranian officials. One element reportedly under consideration included the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital global shipping route that has long been a strategic pressure point in regional negotiations.

Following a series of calls with leaders from Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Pakistan, Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, and Bahrain, Trump said the framework of a broader regional agreement is now effectively in place, pending final approval and formalization.

He further stated that final details are still being negotiated but suggested that an official announcement could come imminently.

“Final aspects and details of the Deal are currently being discussed, and will be announced shortly. In addition to many other elements of the Agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened.”

To provide full context of the scope of the discussions, Trump released a detailed statement outlining the breadth of the diplomatic engagement and the countries involved:

“I am in the Oval Office at the White House where we just had a very good call with President Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud, of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, of The United Arab Emirates, Emir Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani, and Minister Ali al-Thawadi, of Qatar, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir Ahmed Shah, of Pakistan, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, of Türkiye, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, of Egypt, King Abdullah II, of Jordan, and King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, of Bahrain, concerning the Islamic Republic of Iran, and all things related to a Memorandum of Understanding pertaining to PEACE.

An Agreement has been largely negotiated, subject to finalization between the United States of America, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the various other Countries, as listed. Separately, I had a call with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, of Israel, which, likewise, went very well. Final aspects and details of the Deal are currently being discussed, and will be announced shortly. In addition to many other elements of the Agreement, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP”

The statement underscores the scale of the negotiations, involving multiple regional powers and addressing one of the most strategically significant waterways in the world. If finalized, the agreement would mark a major shift in U.S.-Iran relations and could potentially reshape diplomatic and security dynamics across the Middle East.

For now, officials are signaling that the deal remains in its final stages—but if Trump’s comments are accurate, an official announcement may be imminent, setting the stage for what could be a historic turning point in regional geopolitics.
