The American justice system continues to strain public trust as yet another eyebrow-raising judicial assignment fuels accusations of lawfare, bias, and political theater.

In a move that has left conservatives shaking their heads, a 92-year-old federal judge appointed by former President Bill Clinton has been selected to oversee the high-profile criminal case against Venezuelan socialist strongman Nicolás Maduro in New York.
