Shocking Video Of Woman Being Dragged Into Lake By Alligator

Tragically, an elderly lady was severely attacked by an alligator in Florida, taking her life in the process. Her dying moments were recorded on security camera, which sheds heartbreaking light on this horrible occurrence.

Gloria Serge was taking her dog Trooper for a routine walk in the Florida retirement community of Spanish Lakes Fairways on a normal Monday. Yet this day took a shocking turn as a threatening alligator charged at them both from the water!

Serge tried to take her beloved puppy away from an alligator in a last-ditch effort to rescue it. She was quickly snatched by the reptile predator and pulled into the dark waters.

On-site animal surveillance equipment recorded this tragic occurrence.

Serge’s brave 76-year-old neighbor Carole Thomas lost no time in making a courageous effort to rescue him from impending danger as she hurried towards the water and dialed 911.

“There’s a woman in the lake! The alligator’s got her!” While she attempted to reach out a pole for Serge to grasp onto, the distraught neighbor called 911.

The rescue team’s troubled emotions prevented them from offering Thomas any consolation; his somber phone call-in lamentations rang in their ears. “I think she’s gone, oh my God.”

“There is no way I could have gotten to her sooner,” Thomas said after the fact. “It’s horrible for her family. It’s just horrible, horrible. And her friends, I spoke to a couple of her friends yesterday who are devastated.”

Authorities were compelled to get involved after an 85-year-old lady went missing during a hunt for her after local villagers reported an alligator they called “Henry” in a lake close to their house. Unfortunately, her corpse was soon discovered, and Henry’s guilt was proved to be the cause.

The culprit was captured and killed mercifully after a brutal assault.

Serge has regrettably become the most recent victim in a heartbreaking string of alligator-related deaths in Florida. Since July 2020, two more people have died in assaults by these reptiles close to Englewood, and Serge’s death adds another avoidable tragedy to our state’s list of tragedies.

Alligators are a common sight in Florida, although there is minimal danger from these reptiles; since 1948, just 26 out of 8,000 unprovoked bites have resulted in death, or barely eight on average each year.

On its website, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) claims: “The likelihood of a Florida resident being seriously injured during an unprovoked alligator incident in Florida is roughly only one in 3.1 million.”
