The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) just confirmed what many conservatives have been demanding for years — a true crackdown on illegal immigration is finally here. Tricia McLaughlin, DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs, revealed Sunday that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is preparing for an “unprecedented surge” in operations as thousands of new agents join the force.
A Nationwide Crackdown Gains Momentum
Speaking with Fox News, McLaughlin said ICE’s ongoing interior enforcement has already resulted in 500,000 deportations, with another 1.6 million illegal aliens self-deporting under renewed enforcement pressure.
“But we have a lot more work to do. We want to really surge those arrest numbers, especially given that one big, beautiful bill that we’ve received the funding to do it. I think we’re going to be making great progress,” McLaughlin said.
Her remarks mark a defining moment in the Trump administration’s efforts to restore law and order at the border and in the nation’s cities.
