“I learned from very high sources, from very qualified sources, Iran launched a mothership a month ago that contains these drones,” Van Drew stated. “It’s off the east coast of the United States.”
Van Drew explained that Iran, a so-called third-world country, managed to achieve this capability by partnering with China. “Iran made a deal with China to purchase drones and technology to go forward,” he noted, underscoring the geopolitical complexity of the threat.
Van Drew minced no words when it came to addressing the threat. “These drones should be shot down!” he declared. “We are not getting the full deal (story), and the military is on alert.”

Harris Faulkner emphasized the gravity of the situation, pointing out that drones of this size and sophistication could pose a direct threat not only to New Jersey but to other eastern states. She expressed concern over potential casualties if the drones were intercepted but acknowledged the necessity of swift action.
This is not the first instance of foreign adversaries using advanced technology to breach U.S. defenses. Last year, a Chinese spy balloon traversed American airspace, including sensitive military sites, before being downed over the Atlantic Ocean. If Van Drew’s information is accurate, this marks yet another bold intrusion into U.S. territory—this time with a direct threat to Trump.

The congressman also referenced two previous attempts on Trump’s life allegedly orchestrated by Iranian officials. In one chilling instance, an assassination was narrowly avoided during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, involving a would-be attacker identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks.
Van Drew’s warnings come at a time of heightened geopolitical tension. The prospect of a hostile nation deploying drones so close to American shores highlights vulnerabilities in homeland security. Moreover, Trump’s presence in New Jersey adds a layer of urgency to the situation.
As the FAA’s restrictions remain in place and the military monitors the skies, one question looms large: will the U.S. take decisive action before it’s too late? For now, all eyes are on the eastern seaboard, where the threat of foreign drones has become an unsettling reality.
