America Sat on THIS China Solution for Years…

For decades, China has steadily positioned itself at the center of the global lithium supply chain while the United States lagged behind. Now, a newly released analysis from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), advanced under President Trump’s mineral strategy, is reshaping that narrative in a dramatic way.

The findings suggest that one of America’s most historic mountain ranges may also be one of its most strategically important.

A Massive Domestic Lithium Discovery Hidden in Plain Sight

According to the USGS, the Appalachian Mountains—stretching from Maine down through Alabama—contain an estimated 2.3 million metric tons of undiscovered, economically recoverable lithium.

That figure alone has triggered significant attention in energy and defense circles. At current import levels, the deposit could theoretically replace U.S. lithium imports for more than three centuries. Analysts also estimate it could support the production of roughly 1.6 million grid-scale battery systems capable of stabilizing national energy infrastructure.
