A violent stabbing incident in a predominantly Jewish neighborhood in North London has triggered a major security response and a Counter Terrorism investigation, after two Jewish men were attacked in broad daylight by a suspect now identified as a 45-year-old British national born in Somalia.
The shocking attack unfolded at approximately 11:16 a.m. on Highfield Avenue in Golders Green, an area well known for its large Jewish community. According to early reports, the assault appeared to be targeted, with victims attacked in separate but nearby locations as the suspect moved through the area armed with a knife.
Two victims—men aged 76 and 34—were seriously injured in the stabbing. Emergency services rushed both individuals to a nearby hospital. Officials have confirmed that both men are currently in stable condition, though the circumstances surrounding the attack have left the local community deeply shaken.
As details emerged, the Jewish neighbourhood watch organization Shomrim reported that the suspect was seen running along Golders Green Road wielding a knife and attempting to stab members of the public. One of the victims was reportedly attacked while leaving a synagogue, while the second was stabbed at a nearby bus stop, underscoring the randomness and suddenness of the violence.
