Obama’s WHCD Comment Ignites Social Media!

That statement immediately triggered backlash online because reports had already surfaced identifying the suspect and outlining his motives in disturbing detail.

Authorities identified the suspect as Cole Allen, a 31-year-old computer scientist from California. According to reports, Allen allegedly sent a manifesto to family members roughly ten minutes before launching the attack. That manifesto reportedly made it unmistakably clear who he wanted to target: President Trump and members of his administration.

Media organizations and users across social media had already begun circulating the writings before Obama’s post was published.

In one chilling section of the manifesto, Allen wrote:

“On to why I did any of this:

I am a citizen of the United States of America.

What my representatives do reflects on me.

And I am no longer willing to permit a pedophile, rapist, and traitor to coat my hands with his crimes.

(Well, to be completely honest, I was no longer willing a long time ago, but this is the first real opportunity I’ve had to do something about it.)”

The suspect then reportedly laid out additional plans for targets inside the administration.

“Administration officials (not including Mr. Patel): they are targets, prioritized from highest-ranking to lowest…”

Later in the manifesto, Allen added:

“I experience rage thinking about everything this administration has done.”

Those statements left little doubt in the minds of many Americans that the attack was politically motivated and specifically directed at President Trump and senior officials.

Law enforcement sources said Allen arrived heavily armed. Investigators reported that he carried a shotgun, a handgun, and multiple knives when he allegedly rushed a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton, where the annual dinner was being held.

The event was already underway when gunfire suddenly erupted near the ballroom entrance.

Witnesses described a terrifying scene as attendees scrambled for cover under tables while Secret Service agents and other officers rushed toward the threat. Some guests reportedly believed at first that dishes had fallen before realizing shots were being fired.

One federal officer was struck in a bullet-resistant vest during the confrontation. Officials said the body armor likely saved the officer from severe injury. The officer is expected to recover.

Additional reports indicated Allen may have assembled a “long weapon” in an unsecured area close to the entrance before moving toward the event. A volunteer nearby reportedly saw the suspect remove parts from a bag and put the firearm together moments before the shooting began.

Authorities said Allen was quickly subdued and taken into custody at the scene. He was later transported to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation before charges were announced.

Federal prosecutors are expected to pursue major charges, including firearm offenses and assaulting a federal officer.

President Trump was safely evacuated by Secret Service agents along with other senior officials. He later praised law enforcement for their swift and courageous response.

The White House Correspondents’ Association later confirmed the dinner would be postponed and rescheduled.

Obama’s remarks, however, continued to draw criticism as many questioned why the former president appeared reluctant to acknowledge the explicit anti-Trump motive already public by the time he posted.

For many observers, the real story was not uncertainty over motive—but the growing danger of political hatred boiling into real-world violence.
