After leaving office, the Obamas inked a lucrative deal with Netflix, cashing in with their production company, Higher Ground. Their first major release? A 2019 documentary titled American Factory, centered around the Fuyao plant’s reopening and the supposed triumph of cross-cultural cooperation.
The film painted a rosy picture of the plant’s resurrection and earned critical acclaim — even winning the 2020 Academy Award for Best Documentary. But behind the scenes, a much darker story was unfolding.
That “American success story” was shattered last year when federal agents raided the Fuyao facility in Moraine — along with several other locations around Dayton. The investigation, led by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and other agencies, was aimed at uncovering “financial crimes and labor exploitation.”
According to reports, Fuyao is accused of using hundreds of illegal Chinese workers at the plant. Locals began noticing strange patterns: vans transporting dozens of Chinese men from residential houses directly to the factory. One resident in Miami Township said more than 20 men had suddenly moved into a nearby home, all bound for the Fuyao plant daily.
Court documents revealed Fuyao was allegedly working with a separate organization tied to human trafficking and money laundering to fill its labor demands.
A federal filing spelled it out: Chinese “front companies” were allegedly facilitating “the harboring, transportation, and employment of illegal aliens at various factories, and have developed a sophisticated Money Laundering Organization.”
But perhaps the most alarming detail is who’s running the show. Fuyao’s chairman, Cao Dewang, made no secret about his deep allegiance to the Chinese Communist Party.
In a speech to the Fuyao University of Science and Technology, which he founded in China, Dewang openly declared:
“Our principle is to unconditionally adhere to the leadership of the Communist Party and the Chinese government and implement the principal responsibility system under the leadership of the board.”
He added, “The government respects me very much. They let me be chairman for 10 years… The school is owned by the government, but I oversee it.”
That’s right — the man Obama promoted through a Netflix documentary and praised for investing in America is not only a loyal CCP operative but is also overseeing a company now under investigation for importing illegal workers and laundering money.
So far, Barack Obama has remained silent as the allegations against Fuyao escalate. But the facts are damning. A company he once championed — one that helped launch his and Michelle’s Hollywood careers — is now under federal scrutiny for potentially criminal activity and deep links to communist China.
In an era when the Biden administration claims to be taking foreign influence seriously, why is there no accountability for the Obamas’ endorsement of a CCP-controlled business now accused of exploiting foreign labor on American soil?
As federal authorities dig deeper into this case, one thing is clear: Barack Obama’s legacy of questionable alliances is once again casting a long shadow over America’s future.
