Tom Cruise just reminded the world why he’s still in a league of his own—and it’s not just because of death-defying stunts or billion-dollar box office hits. While promoting the final installment of the Mission: Impossible franchise, Cruise proved he’s one of the few remaining stars in Hollywood who knows how to stay focused on the craft instead of getting dragged into political virtue signaling.
Cruise is currently on an international media blitz for Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, visiting various countries and receiving a rockstar’s welcome. One of his stops was South Korea, where a press event quickly took a turn when a reporter tried to bait him into making political commentary on President Donald Trump’s tariffs affecting overseas film productions.
Now, anyone familiar with Hollywood’s behavior over the last several years knows exactly how this usually goes. Give most of these actors a microphone, and they’ll leap at the chance to trash Trump, conservative values, or America itself. But Cruise? He wasn’t having any of it.
