Elon Musk is rattling Washington once again—this time by threatening to launch a brand-new political party if Republicans refuse to block Donald Trump’s massive spending proposal.
The billionaire tech mogul, who helms both Tesla and SpaceX, ignited controversy after lambasting the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” championed by Trump and many GOP lawmakers. Musk unleashed a furious salvo on X, the social media platform he owns, branding the current political establishment a bloated mess.
“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!! Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,” he said on X, a platform he owns.
The Tesla boss has always been outspoken online, but his criticism of Republicans has reached a new fever pitch in recent days. His comments signal growing disillusionment with the party he began flirting with only a few years ago.
