Democrats are once again losing their grip as President Trump doubles down on restoring election integrity. The latest meltdown comes from Rep. Sarah McBride (D-DE), a transgender lawmaker formerly known as Tim McBride, who accused Trump of waging what she called an “all-out assault” on democracy.
It’s the same tired talking point we’ve heard for years from the Left. McBride, a member of the very party that manipulated the 2020 election and pushed endless rule changes to tilt the process in their favor, is now pretending to be the defender of “free and fair” elections.
The hypocrisy is glaring. Democrats have been the masters of gerrymandering for decades, they’ve fought voter ID laws, and they’ve done everything possible to expand voting rights for non-citizens. Yet McBride smeared Trump and Republicans by saying, “this president is taking notes from his favorite dictator,” while calling GOP-backed reforms “illegal.”
McBride added, “A president with popular policies wouldn’t need to illegally gerrymander districts, ban voting machines, or abolish vote-by-mail. This is an all-out assault not just on free and fair elections—but on American democracy itself.”
