In their place? Windmills and solar panels—shiny but shaky.
“Wind and solar energy replaced reliable coal and gas,” experts say. “But green energy sources rely on the whims of nature to generate electricity.”
And now, nature isn’t cooperating.
Europe’s Energy Nightmare: A Warning for the U.S.
Back in April, 50 million people across Spain and Portugal were left in the dark after their grid collapsed under the weight of green energy’s instability. That should’ve been a wake-up call.
Here in the U.S., it’s déjà vu all over again.
A new report by the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) says that power grids across the South, Midwest, and Texas are all staring down the barrel of rolling blackouts. Air conditioners blasting during heatwaves are expected to push the grid to the breaking point.
“The overall electrical demand has been growing faster than the power supply can keep up with it,” the report adds.
Trump Steps In to Keep the Lights On
Unlike his predecessors, Donald Trump isn’t willing to gamble with the lives of millions for a leftist climate fantasy. His administration is stepping in where others have failed.
This week, Secretary Wright issued an emergency order to keep the J.H. Campbell coal-fired plant in West Olive, Michigan operational. The plant had been scheduled to shut down—but with the nation on edge, the Trump administration hit the brakes.
“There will be electricity produced this year than last summer,” officials confirmed, as the grid teeters dangerously close to failure.
This isn’t just a one-off. Trump’s energy team is taking a hard look at the broader threat. A study by the Institute for Energy Economics & Financial Analysis found that over 9,300 megawatts of power are expected to disappear from the grid in coming years due to premature coal plant closures.
A Future at Risk
The stakes couldn’t be higher. With every new solar panel and wind turbine replacing coal and gas, the grid gets weaker. The very policies pushed by Biden’s EPA are now threatening the stability of the nation’s power supply.
“The growth of green energy has the power grid flirting with disaster,” experts say.
But Trump is drawing a clear line in the sand. Coal is here to stay—for now. His administration is determined to protect Americans from the dangerous consequences of the Left’s climate obsession.
Because in the middle of a heatwave, Americans don’t care how “green” their power is. They just want the lights—and the air conditioning—to stay on.
