House Republicans are once again turning up the pressure on the U.S. Senate after another failed attempt to advance legislation requiring proof of citizenship for federal elections, with House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer delivering some of his sharpest criticism yet toward members of his own party.
During an appearance on Fox News’ The Big Weekend Show, Comer openly challenged Republican senators who continue to oppose the SAVE America Act, arguing that they are allowing political fear to outweigh what he believes is a commonsense election integrity measure.
“Are you that weak?” Comer asked, directing the remark at Republican senators unwilling to support the legislation.
