A Pennsylvania court has ruled in favor of Elon Musk and his political action committee (PAC), America PAC, allowing Musk’s controversial $1 million-per-day sweepstakes program to continue just one day before the election. This program has faced accusations of influencing voters in key battleground states, as critics argue it amounts to an illegal lottery.
Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner sought to halt the program, alleging the daily million-dollar giveaways targeted registered voters and violated Pennsylvania’s lottery laws. The court’s ruling, however, rejected his request for an injunction. The judge determined that there was not enough evidence to classify the program as an illegal lottery, handing Musk a significant legal win on the eve of Election Day.
