In a last-minute swing state push, the Harris-Walz campaign raised eyebrows by busing New York City supporters to a campaign rally in Pennsylvania as the 2024 race nears its final stretch. Reports surfaced that around 30 supporters from the Bronx traveled to Philadelphia on November 2 to help bolster Vice President Kamala Harris’s momentum in the key battleground state, according to a report from the Bronx Times.
The campaign’s strategy focused on mobilizing dedicated Harris supporters, opting to concentrate on rallying enthusiasm rather than changing minds at this late stage. “In preparation for the bus trip to Philadelphia, the campaign directed volunteers at this late stage to focus on generating excitement and preparation among those already planning to vote for Harris and less on persuading those who are not,” said DaiQuan Cain, a Parkchester resident who coordinated the trip.

This latest move has sparked conversation, especially as it highlights Harris’s significant investment in Pennsylvania. Michael Blake, former Bronx Assembly Member and vice chair of the Democratic National Committee, underscored the rally’s importance by telling volunteers to be “positively aggressive” when interacting with voters. “As we know, Pennsylvania is essential,” he reminded the group.
