This new package comes as part of Biden’s request for an additional $24 billion from Congress, demonstrating his commitment to bolstering Ukraine’s defense capabilities. Critics argue that this is yet another example of the administration’s big-government spending spree.
The Hunter Biden Pardon Sparks Outrage
Among Biden’s final acts as president is a decision that has left many Americans stunned: a sweeping pardon for his son, Hunter Biden. This pardon, which covers any crimes committed between January 1, 2014, and December 1, 2024, has reignited allegations of corruption and favoritism. Notably, 2014 was the year Hunter joined Burisma, the controversial Ukrainian energy company at the center of numerous scandals.
Biden justified the pardon as an act of compassion, citing what he described as undue scrutiny of his son by the justice system.
“No reasonable person who looks at the facts of Hunter’s cases can reach any other conclusion than Hunter was singled out only because he is my son – and that is wrong,” Biden wrote in a statement.
Jill Biden Speaks Out
While Joe Biden has largely remained out of the public eye since issuing the pardon, First Lady Jill Biden has taken center stage. In a recent interview with Boston 25, Jill Biden offered a rare glimpse into the decision-making process behind the controversial pardon.
“Of all these accomplishments all these years, are you afraid anything might be overshadowed by the pardoning of your son?” investigative reporter Kerry Kavanaugh asked.
Jill Biden responded decisively: “No, I actually don’t. I think that, Joe, — Kerry, Joe really wrestled with this decision and circumstances changed.”
She went on to reveal a pivotal detail: “Joe talked to a lot of legal experts, and I think this was the right course of action. And, of course, Hunter is my son,” she added. “And, of course, I support what Joe did.”

Her comments suggest that it was the advice of legal experts, rather than personal emotion, that ultimately swayed President Biden’s decision. This acknowledgment has done little to quell criticism from detractors who view the pardon as a blatant abuse of power.
Legal and Ethical Questions Loom Large
Hunter Biden’s pardon has reignited longstanding concerns about potential conflicts of interest and allegations of influence peddling. Critics have pointed to Hunter’s business dealings, particularly those linked to Burisma, as evidence of unethical behavior that undermines public trust.
The 11-year scope of the pardon has further fueled skepticism. Some argue that it shields Hunter from accountability for potential wrongdoing, including allegations of pay-to-play schemes involving his father’s political influence.
A Contentious Legacy
As Joe Biden prepares to leave the White House, his controversial actions in the final days of his presidency risk overshadowing his broader legacy. For many Americans, the Hunter Biden pardon serves as a stark reminder of the blurred lines between family loyalty and political ethics. Whether this decision will impact public perception of the Biden family for years to come remains to be seen.

I don’t think Joe needs to worry about his legacy as he doesn’t have one.He has done nothing but
harm this country for 4 years. He says he did a lot of thinking about the pardon for his disgusting
son and had planned to this all along. If it had just been for the things he already pled guilty to it
wouldn’t be so bad but they go back to 2014 when he joined Burisma all the way to Dec. 1st which
is not a coincidence.I hope they are able to still go after him and make him testify before congress
where he can no longer use the 5th amendment.
